Digging the digital

One of my favorite subreddits is /r/oldschoolcool. It’s “a pictorial and video celebration of history’s coolest kids, everything from beatniks to bikers, mods to rude boys, hippies to ravers. And everything in between.” And it didn’t disappoint today. Look at this screenshot.

This is straight out of a casting for a new Netflix Stranger Things spin-off! Or as one of the Redditors commented: “I feel like this exact group was in another room of Shermer High doing programming while the Breakfast Club was in detention.”

The name of the club is spot-on: System Violators. The selection of individuals is perfect for some high-school drama. From the beer-drinking stoner to the left, to the socially awkward boy between the two girls. It also has a nice Freaks and Geeks vibe going on.
