Er gebeurt een hoop in de eerste week van DrummerCMS. Ik lees dat het nu nog eenvoudiger is om je eigen domein aan een Drummer blog te koppelen. Dat was precies wat ik nog voor elkaar wilde krijgen. In combinatie met de PagePark installatie op Glitch heb ik het voor elkaar. Maar het werkt allemaal heel traag. Misschien dat ik nog eens een apart klein servertje optuig om het goed te regelen. Na een dag werken bij KLBR toch nog even wat klooien met Drummer :-)
Sinds drie dagen had ik al gedoe met mijn oude linkblog op Radio3. Of in elk geval, ik kreeg hem niet goed gelinkt in de tab die je bovenaan deze pagina ziet. Na allerlei experimenten, zelftwijfel en bezwerende dansen in maanlicht schreef ik toch maar een bugreport op Github. En natuurlijk begint 20 minuten later alles te werken. Blogfather Dave Winer stelt me gerust als ik me vertwijfeld afvraag waarom dit toch altijd gebeurt als ik een bug indien. Alles begint dan plots weer te werken. Hij geeft een prachtig mantra voor de rest van de dag: “Sometimes software or computers feel unloved, and all they want is a little attention and then they start working again.”

Ik word er toch wel blij van als iemand als Jack Baty zegt: “On the other hand, Drummer does blogging in exactly the way I want to do blogging.” Het zou mooi zijn als hij nu een webmention ontvangt van dit bericht. Om het gesprek aan de gang te krijgen, ieder op zijn eigen blog.
Ik geef mezelf nog een half uurtje op de maandagavond om nog wat te klooien met Drummer. Kijken of ik het nu wel op een eigen domein kan laten landen. Ik zie dat Jack Baty inmiddels ook een Drummer blog heeft. En zijn linkblog vanuit Radio3 heeft gekoppeld!

I’m currently rolling my own solution to have tagged links in Pinboard sent periodically to my Jekyll blog as an individual article in a specific template.
I’m now wrapping my head around whether I should save these RSS feeditems as array, object or JSON as a buffer.
Learning to program is hard! Lots of trial and error but the endresult is very gratifying. It feels good you can make something to scratch your own itch instead of looking for 3rd party solutions.

We just finished our demo/livingroom in the office. We now have various smart home devices we can hook up to our Olisto app to test and demo. Of course I had to make sure there are comfy chairs. Here’s me working hard in our nice IKEA lounge chair. Love this place.
